Because recovery isn’t about pushing harder — it’s about moving differently.
You’ve probably already tried a lot — three different physiotherapists in Vancouver, medication, even asking ChatGPT for new exercise ideas — and still find yourself stuck.
Maybe every flare makes you question whether you’re improving or whether your body can be trusted to move freely again.
Repattern is for people ready to understand pain differently and start rebuilding strength, safety, and trust in their bodies.
How It Works
Each week combines simple pain-science concepts with guided, low-stakes movement so you can apply what you learn in real time.
Over six weeks, you’ll reconnect with safety and ease in your body through movement, reflection, and a deeper understanding of how pain works.
You’ll begin to see that progress isn’t linear — and that meeting pain with curiosity rather than fear is where lasting change begins.
The program is led by Catherine Murray, Clinical Pilates Instructor and Pain Reprocessing Therapy–trained practitioner at Embodied Physiotherapy and Pilates.
The Repattern Pillars
- Right Care, Safe Space – Work with a practitioner who sees you as a whole person — not just your symptoms. Feeling safe and supported is where change begins.
- Understanding Pain, Reconnecting with Control – Learn how your nervous system interprets sensations and discover how to influence those signals through daily practice.
- Grace in Practice – Build patience and self-compassion as you apply new skills. Progress isn’t linear, and giving yourself grace helps your system truly change.
The Transformation
Before Repattern, many people feel stuck — frustrated by pain, unsure which movements are “safe,” and worried that their world is shrinking as more things start to hurt.
After Repattern, movement feels possible again.
You’ll have clear, functional tools for what to do when pain rises — simple, repeatable steps you can use right away.
You’ll have language to explain what’s happening, so conversations with family or healthcare providers feel easier.
Most importantly, you’ll begin to trust your body again — to feel capable, grounded, and strong.
What’s Included
- Six weekly 60-minute sessions (in person or online) blending Pain Reprocessing Therapy, movement practice, and education.
- Printed Repattern Workbook with journaling prompts, take-home exercises, and a Stop–Drop–and–Repattern flowchart — a quick visual guide for responding when pain increases, and what do to keep it from creeping back up again.
- Short video clips between sessions to help you stay engaged and integrate what you’ve learned.
Repattern Plus: Your Personalized Path
For those wanting individualized support alongside the group experience, Repattern Plus offers a deeper, tailored approach.
You’ll begin with an initial physiotherapy assessment with Katie Evans, followed by six individualized sessions with Catherine Murray.
These sessions integrate movement and pain-reprocessing strategies to support your unique needs while you participate in the Repattern program.
Unlike the group series (not covered under physiotherapy), these sessions may be eligible for coverage under some extended-health physiotherapy plans.
At the end of the program, you’ll receive a summary letter for your GP or other providers outlining findings, recommendations, and next steps.
📧 To book Repattern Plus, email info@embodiedphysiopilates.com, or go to our Janeapp to see immediate availability for your intake session (additional times are available).
Sessions are available in person or online.
Our Why
Repattern grew from a need for care that truly connects.
From Katie, the owner of Embodied:
“During the pandemic, I realized I couldn’t keep treating pain in a way that overlooked the person behind it. One client I had had been brushed aside — treated for symptoms but never asked why they hurt. When they were finally given space to connect past experiences with their pain, everything shifted.”
That experience became the foundation of Embodied — and later, of Repattern — a space where pain care includes curiosity, compassion, and human connection.
“Over the years, I’ve watched clients rediscover movement in ways that brought joy — from returning to high-level sport to doing things they hadn’t done since childhood. When pain no longer feels threatening, the body moves freely again.”
